PAAC V.I.P. Awards
for the 2011 Season
Held at The Eagles Club, Negaunee
January 10, 2012 along with our Annual Meeting

stop by the Thrift Shop and pick it up from Al.
The following were awarded
our V.I.P. (Vista's Important People) Awards:
Best Actor - Brian Sundberg
Closer; Almost, Main: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat;
PAAC Fairy Tales; Lombardi; The Rocky Horror Show; and Scrooge
Most Improved Actor - Meredith Gasco and Allysa Dupras
Meredith was Marie Lombardi in Lombardi and PAAC Fairy Tales
Allysa was in PAAC Fairy Tales, The Rocky Horror Show, and Scrooge
Best Youth Actor - Sara Hammar and Lydia Jarvi
Sara was in Scrooge
Lydia was in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and PAAC Fairy Tales
Best New-comers -Steve Halsey, Melissa Heymann, Maggie Kieckhafer
Steve was in PAAC Fairy Tales with the best role as Papa Bear, and the Narrator in The Rocky Horror Show
Melissa was Columbia in The Rocky Horror Show
Maggie was the pianist in The Rocky Horror Show and in Scrooge
Best Theatrical Moment - Jeff Jennings singing "Close Every Door" in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
Funniest Moment - Tina VanDyke Nelson, Andy Kulie
Snowmobile love scene in Almost, Maine
The Show Must Go On Award
was given to
all those who helped get us a lighting board and lights after lightning struck
the Vista Theater during the weekend between Joseph and the Amazing
Technicolor Dreamcoat and blew out our lighting board
This Award also went to Katie Killian and Maria Fernandes
Katie hurt her knee and the show had to be stopped to call the ambulance
during her Time Warp dance when she stepped to the left while her knee went to the right.
Maria wouldn't let a medical tube in neck stop her role in PAAC Fairy Tales
Best New Director - Connie Lindblom and Marcia Paquette
Co-directed or facilitated as they like to say for
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
Best Technician - Ryan Henry, Emmye Wiig
Ryan for building the set for The Rocky Horror Show and for all the lighting and
sound board operation for all the plays and events at the Vista Theater.
Emmye for her hair and make up help, assistant directing and all the other work she has done.
Welcome Back Award - Jeff Jennings, Jill Howard
Jeff came back to star as Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
Jill came back and played the role of Marci in Almost, Maine
Congeniality Award - Jacob Laitinen
Jacob's happy personality and helpfulness made rehearsals go much easier
and helped the cast maintain a fun and productive relationship
Lifetime Achievement Award - Vic Holiday, Jerry Lewis
Vic has given so much time and talent to PAAC and the Vista Theater in areas of
lighting, lighting control ideas and installation, operations and organization, among others
that we wanted to honor him with this award. His name will go on the plaque in the lobby.
Jerry Lewis helped make the purchase of the Vista Theater possible. We will have more information
on this wonderful person when it is edited and sent to us for publishing.
The John Everson Award went to Andy Kulie
since John wasn't there to receive it.
Special Recognition Awards
For all the volunteer time in the Thrift Shop, PAAC would like to thank
Lou Rosenbaum
Amy Robare
Linda Perucco
Gwen White
Meredith Seppanen, Michael Anderson
for their innovative ideas and all their volunteer help for The Rocky Horror Show
Brandon Ketchersid for his excellent assistance in helping with concessions,
and making sure concessions was open even when Janet Penhale couldn't be there.
He even was a big help while he acted in the PAAC Fairy Tales
Andrew Powell for his ushering and even being in a play for the first time.
Andrew would usher at the spur of a moment and was at all the plays.
